Some Gifts for Modern Men

Give money to a charity
Donate money on behalf of your modern man to a charity of your choice. For example from as little as $25 a month you can change the future for someone living with avoidable blindness. Help the people who need your help!

A watch worth keeping
Christopher Ward (very affordable luxury watches)
Patek Philippe (if you wanna shoot higher)
Breguet (if you’re a sheik or a king or at least a millionaire)
A watch he can give to his grandson one day.

A good quality belt
A man can always use another good belt. Make sure though that the new belt has at least as good quality as the belts he already has.

A pair of sunglasses
It’s a tricky present to get since it depends on everyone’s personal preferences. You can always go and brows some sunnies with him and get the pair that he likes most.

An Apple
Who wouldn’t love getting the latest model iPod, iPhone, iPad or iRack...

Something to wrap around an Apple
... like a Gela Skin or Dodo Case

A sky dive
It’s a life changing experience in a positive sense.

A race track driving experience
He would love every minute and every second of it. And he'll love you for giving the experience to him.

A set of kitchen knives
Global, Zwilling...
Even if he doesn’t cook much every man has a soft spot for good quality steel products. It doesn't matter if he’s ever gonna use the knives for cutting apples into two halves, he would still enjoy it.

A pocket knife
Don’t get him a Victorinox, get him a proper knife (meaning NOT a knife that does 20 things rather bad but a knife that does cutting really well).

The hat he always wanted to have

Something to support his hobby
That’s a tricky one since most likely you don’t have a clue about the equipment he's using. Best to be honest and ask him about it.

A hard drive
A hard drive is either new or full – always good to have some extra storage space.

Harman Kardon GLA-55 Speakers
Superior sound and design:

Sennheiser Noice Cancelling Headphones
There is always some noise around you worth cancelling out:

Shure SE535 Sound Isolating Earphones
Excellent earphones for exercising – you cannot ware your Sennheiser PXC450 when you’re running or biking, therefore you need a good pair of in ear earphones as well.
Tools
Preferably a gift card  so he can complement his existing collection

Harley Davidson (or similar) Rider Course:
Like the say on the website – "Even the best can be better". Or if he doesn't have motorbike license maybe it’s time to get one.

A proper stake – Wagyu Beef, Kobe Beef for non vegans/vegetarians
The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.

A book
Even if he’s not a big reader there is probably something that interests him. Get a book on that particular subject.

A good rain jacket
Sooner or later a man needs to get out in the rain. A crappy jacket may keep the water out but if the fabric doesn’t breath the man will be soaking in his own sweat.

Aftershave & Eau De Toilette & Deodorant Stick
It’s gotta be a nice and expensive one (not the cheap stuff that smells like toilet cleaners)

A photo shoot
Get some photos taken and touched up by a professional photographer. We all get older and having some photos on which he looks his very best is gonna be a sweet memory one day.

  1. I really liked your ideas and think your list is a great addition to Becky's. I thi k your list tends to be more expensive although I haven't worked that out, it's just an impression and it is easier to get better presents with more money but I like both lists. Good job.

  2. I agree, this is a pretty expensive list. There are a few items though that would cost less than $100; such as a fragrance, a book, a pay-per-view event or my favourite – giving money to a charity.

Personally I’m dead tired of getting $50 useless items that just end up on a shelf somewhere. In that case I really think it’s better to give this money to a charity and thereby help people who really need it.

In some cases when knowing what a friend of ours really really wants we have combined our funds and put the money towards a bigger present. When everyone shoots in $50-100 bucks, as a group you can buy a $1,000 present.

  4. Cheers! I love that you added the charity thing first... but ALSO that you added experiences such as skydiving or car racing to the list. I think more people should think in terms of experiences for gifts... most of us don't actually need more *stuff* and even if we love the "new" whatever, it may not be something we actually need in our lives. Experiences are what memories are made of, while keeping our footprint light.
